The Inter-Church Centre is situated at 48 Elmwood Avenue, near Queen’s University in South Belfast. The Inter-Church Centre is the joint secretariat of the Irish Council of Churches and the Irish Inter-Church Meeting. The staff are based here in their work with the inter-church structures.
A four-storey mid terrace building, built in the 1880’s, the Inter-Church Centre was purchased in late 1977 with money gifted by the Evangelical Churches in Westphalia and Rhineland, Germany. Over the past thirty years, the space in the Inter-Church Centre has been shared with the offices of Christian Aid, the Irish School of Ecumenics, the Churches Community Work Alliance and the Churches Peace Education Programme. The space is currently shared with Embrace NI and TIDES.
