Lurgan is set to mark Good Relations Week 2019 with a live Theatre of Witness Performance and Workshop hosted by The Playhouse Theatre.

Co–ordinated by the Shared Education Partnership in Lurgan the event is based on this year’s theme of “People Making Change for Peace”. A diverse panel of victims and survivors of The Troubles will re–tell their real life experiences live on–stage to give a message of understanding, empathy, reconciliation and hope. These community peace makers will engage with the audience offering the opportunity for reflection, discussion and dialogue. The over–arching intention is to present the different perspectives of those severely impacted by the conflict, and to explore the legacy for individuals today – all in the spirit of people making change for peace.

Claire Heaney–McKee, Community Relations Officer at The Playhouse Theatre, said “we are delighted to deliver a live Theatre of Witness Workshop as part of the Good Relations Week programme in Lurgan as it will provide an opportunity to hear and engage with real inspiring peacemakers.”

The event will take place on Wednesday 18th September 2019 at 4pm in The Jethro Centre, Lurgan. For more information please contact Olive Hobson on 07779597647 or Claire Heaney–McKee on [email protected].
