This week marks the start of Creation Time (1st September to 4th October) with Christians around the world taking time to celebrate Creation as well as taking practical steps to care for the environment.

Creation Time is a great opportunity for Christians to be seen out and about in the community as well as taking time to reflect and wonder on the mystery of God’s Creation. There are many ways to celebrate, including holding a harvest festival or environment–themed service or organising a nature walk, litter pick or tree–planting …

It’s not too late to start planning! There are lots of resources available to help you, including prayers prepared for Churches Together in Britain and Ireland and the excellent resources on Eco–Congregation Scotland‘s website.

This year’s theme is God, Whose Farm is All Creation, and our chairperson, Ven Andrew Orr, says:

“The resources help us to cherish and give thanks to God for our farming communities and those who supply our food, and encourage us to take action to protect God’s creation.”
