‘Social economy’ covers a wide variety of areas but the need and opportunity for faith communities and faith based organisations to engage in the provision of goods and services as a fundraising activity and wider contribution to society has never been greater.

This conference, geared to both ‘old hands’, those with considerable experience in the area, and people who want to explore being involved, has the aim to take faith sector thinking further. We will benefit from a faith reflection on involvement, and keynote addresses from Juliet Cornford of Social Enterprise NI and Audrey Murray of Ledcom. There will also be the opportunity to tease out ideas and thinking in small group discussion, grouping together more experienced and less experienced people but hopefully still allowing appropriate reflection by those who have been very much involved in this area of activity. The morning’s work will conclude with a panel discussion and questions.

Booking: There is no fee for attending but those booking are asked to notify organisers if they subsequently find theycannot attend. To book please send the following information to rob.fairmichael@ccwa-ni.org.uk or phone 028 90740077:

1) Your name 2) Organisation or group (if any) 3) E–mail address 4) Postal address 5) Phone number 6) Please indicate if you will stay for lunch at 1.30pm 7) Any special requirements including dietary matters, e.g. vegetarian. 8) (This question is important for forming table groups) On a scale of 1—5, where 1 is an interest but no great knowledge or experience of social economy, through to 5, where you feel knowledgeable and experienced, please indicate your level of experience and knowledge on the topic.

Everyone is welcome so long as they understand the conference is primarily aimed at people in faith communities and faith based organisations. You will receive confirmation of your booking and a reminder close to the date along with venue, travel and car parking information. There is limited space for organisations to have stalls with relevant materials; please ask.
