Post Status: Replacement Post for a staff member on leave from 1st January 2014 to 31st August 2016

This appointment will be made on the Department of Education and Skills Lecturer Scale in line with current Government pay policy

This replacement post for a member of staff on a career break will support the current M.Phil. course in Intercultural Theology and Interreligious Studies (IT&IS), based in Dublin, and ISE’s wide–ranging doctoral degrees programme in Dublin and Belfast. Candidates should have an appropriate academic background in intercultural theology and interreligious knowledge including Ph.D; teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate levels to students from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds and age; competence in methods appropriate to higher theological education; a demonstrable record in and focussed plan for research activity according to Trinity College norms. In–depth knowledge of Christian theology and at least one other religious tradition/context is essential. As part of the IT&IS team, the successful candidate will be ready to provide the required modules and to enhance ISE’s intellectual enterprise of graduate teaching, research, social and ecumenical engagement; to work strategically with the other departments in the Confederal School of Religions, Theology and Ecumenics, and with research and administrative sectors in the university; and to develop links with theological and interreligious institutions and with civic, national and international bodies in the required fields of intercultural theology and interreligious dialogue and transformative learning.
