Delegates on a fact–finding trip to Italian refugee projects, organised by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI), have returned with harrowing stories of serial trafficking, kidnapping and abuse being the norm for refugees en route to the Libyan coast.

However, the delegation also witnessed an inspirational spirit of welcome and compassion from those helping the refugees from the charity Mediterranean Hope.

Amongst the delegation was ICC Programme Officer, Dr Damian Jackson.
