The First Minister of Northern Ireland, the Rt Hon Arlene Foster, has asked St Macartin’s Cathedral, Enniskillen, to put on a concert in the Cathedral this Christmas in aid of hospices on Sunday 11th December at 4.00pm.

It will have a number of excerpts/highlights from The Messiah, along with a few ‘lighter’ pieces of music. Mr Jonathan Ireland will be the Director of Concentio – a multi award–winning chamber choir that he founded 12 years ago now whilst studying Music at Queen’s University. Most of the original members (all Music graduates) are still in the choir, but it has grown in number over the years and they now have around 25 young singers, all aged between 18 and 30 years.

Jonathan grew up in the choir at St Anne’s Cathedral, Belfast and, following graduation, was appointed as Director of Music at Stormont Church in Belfast, where he has been for the past 10 years. He also directs the choir of the Bar of Northern Ireland & Law Society of Northern Ireland, and sings with a number of groups – including Priory Singers and Voices of Ireland locally, and a number of other groups in Cambridge and France. It is a Christmas Concert not to be missed and at the same time supporting a very worthy cause.
